WELCOME TO ELBOW TREE!
Thanks for stopping by! Please continue scrolling to read about how to schedule an appointment with me, the services I offer, and more important information. If you have any questions, please get in touch!

GETTING STARTED WITH ME

I do all of my own scheduling and have a variety of days and times available. The easiest way to schedule with me is to book directly in your secure client portal. Once your appointment has been confirmed, I will safely and securely send you my intake documents in your client portal. These documents must be completed prior to our first appointment. You will also be able to message me directly in the client portal if there is something you would like to discuss before we meet. If you have any questions or need assistance requesting an appointment, you can of course call, email, or text me.

PAYMENT
The standard fee for all clients for a 50-minute session is $100. I accept cash, personal checks, debit cards, credit cards, and health savings account cards. All card charges will include a 3% processing fee. It is the policy of Elbow Tree that the session fee is paid prior to the end of each session. I currently do not participate in any insurance networks.

DISCOUNTED FEES
Pre-pay for 8-10 sessions and take 20% off of the hourly fee. 8 sessions is $640 and 10 sessions is $800. Your bundle may be distributed among multiple family members.

FORMS
All intake forms must be completed online prior to your first appointment with me by completing online intake forms in your secure client portal.

ARRIVAL
When you arrive to the Elbow Tree office, pull in behind the building to find a parking spot. Enter through the rear door and feel free to stop in the kitchen to brew a fresh cup of coffee. Coffee pods and condiments are readily available to you on the shelf above the sink. Make yourself at home. Relax in the waiting room until I come and get you. If its a couple minutes past the top of the hour, don't panic. I'll be out momentarily to greet you.

CANCELLATIONS
Please give me 24-hours notice if you need to cancel our appointment. Last minute cancellations and no-shows will be charged the full session fee unless it is a medical emergency.

A LITTLE MORE ABOUT ME

I grew up on the Jersey Shore and have been a resident of St. Augustine for the past 14 years. I have an Undergraduate Degree from the University of Central Florida and a Masters Degree in Marriage and Family Counseling/Therapy from Capella University. I am also currently working on a Graduate Certificate of Psychology in Play Therapy from Capella University. I am practicing under supervision while working towards full licensure as a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT) and Registered Play Therapist (RPT).

I have devoted most of the past decade of my career to working with children, women, and families in the private and non-profit sectors. I met my husband here in St. Augustine 10 years ago, we were married in 2016, and became first time parents through adoption in 2019. When I'm not at the office, you can typically find us at the beach, biking around, or simply enjoying this beautiful town we get to call home!

My counseling approach is person-centered as I believe that client's are the expert of their lives and have the strengths and resources for growth and change. Counseling should be a collaborative process where we work together, pulling back the layers, shifting you towards personal growth and healing. Sometimes we get stuck in patterns that have helped us in the past, but have now become harmful. We can feel stuck, lost, hopeless. My goal is to provide a place of unconditional positive regard, warmth, and empathy to support you on accomplishing your goals during our time together.

I will often incorporate Play Therapy into sessions with children to strategically create a child-centered environment, meeting the child on their level, in their world, to express their feelings and facilitate change. Just as adults "talk out" their issues, a child's natural way of working out a problem is through play. Self-expression happens more naturally through play for children. Play is the "language" in which children can communicate in a non-threatening way. As Virginia Axline once said, "Enter into children's play and you will find the place where their minds, hearts, & souls meet".
