Greg and Steve will be part of the faculty for this annual training event for medical, counseling, engineering and lay people. This fast-paced combination of classroom and field time is designed to qualify volunteers to deploy on short term disaster response teams with Mission to the World. Participants will be trained on how to rapidly respond on a small, self sustaining mobile unit that is able to set up and live in camps of displaced people groups. Topics of the training include everything from landmine awareness and tropical medicine - to managing conflict on short term teams and developing a theology of pain and suffering.

It affects or relationships, work, and outlook on life, yet few are willing to address it because of the stigma it carries in our society. Hayne addressed Chattanooga's need to embrace self care as good stewardship of the humanity that we have been given by God.

Over the next year A.I.M (Adventures in Mission) will have over 700 "world racers" departing or returning from a year of mission adventure all over the planet. The things these missionaries have seen and done make reentry very difficult. The fact is that when you have been exposed to the things they have seen and done, schlepping coffee at Starbucks just lacks. Hayne has been invited by AIM ,through his work at The SoulCare Project, to help debrief world racers, as a part of Project Searchlight, returning home from their year of global mission travel.

Greg and April will be joining a team from Dallas Bay Baptist Church in the largest missions endeavor the church has ever undertaken. Alongside other providers such as doctors, massage therapists, hair stylists and more, Greg and April will be caring for missionaries from all over the Peruvian region as they come off the the field for a bit of refreshment!

Hayne will be traveling with 15-20 high school seniors to Pioneer Plunge where he will faciliate a weekend spiritual formation retreat for a small group that has been meeting for seven years since the sixth grade. Seven years ago the trip was designed as a father/son weekend where they focused on the masculine journey and culminated the weekend with a gift to each boy ...a shiny red "boy axe." This weekend will be an opportunity to communicate to each young man that they are loved deeply by God.

In conjunction with Mission to the World, Greg and Dr. Tom Edwards will be travelling to the Ivory Coast to provide care to pastors and their families in a network of churches in the capitol city of Abidjan. Dr. Edwards was a long term misionary there for 10 years and Greg got aquanited with local friends there at Advanced Medical Leaders Training in Senegal in 2010.

Greg and April will be leading this day conference for couples. Greg was at Dallas Bay previously for the Fireproof Study in 2008 and will be following up on some of the same marraige concepts, such as: learning how to be a healing influence on your spouse in the places they have been hurt in the past and 3 crucial marriage necessities - intentionality, ownership and TEAM! April will lead a breakout session for women on anxiety and Greg will lead a breakout session for the men dealing with healthy sexuality.

Greg and April will be leading this cross cultural marriage conference at the invitation of some local missionaries, and in partnership with Mission to the World. Because of a recent legal ban on divorce that was lifted in Costa Rica, the divorce rate in the first 4 years of marriage can be up to 75% - even among Christians. Several area churches on the Pacific coast of the country will be gathering for this event.

Hayne is headed to Costa Rica for a week long surf trip to meet up with three longtime friends who co-founded a small group gathering in college together called "Las Olas" (short for Las Olas de Cristo). All surfers, on full moon nights, the gathering would convene down on St. Augustine Beach for a surf session under the bright moon light. Authentic, deep, genuine and honest brotherhood has been the ongoing consistent mark of these friendships culminating in an amazing reuinion in one of the most amazing surf spots on the planet. Hayne traveled representing The SoulCare Project to speak at the International Christian School of Budpaest's "Spiritual Emphasis Week" (SEW) on topics related to spiritual formation; Solitude & Silence, Triust, Interior Life, Listening for God and Love of God. Throughout the week Hayne was invited to break bread with senior leadership of several Eurpoean Mission agencies headquartered in Budapest. It was a fanatastic week getting to co-lead with Russell Courtney and Ausrtin Branson, who is a missionary homebased in Budapest.

This process can be used in churches, non-profit organizations, civic groups, neighborhood group or any other place seeking to find voice and narrative clarity.

Disaster Response Training (DRT) - Mission to the World

Greg and Steve will be part of the faculty for this annual training event for medical, counseling, engineering and lay people. This fast-paced combination of classroom and field time is designed to qualify volunteers to deploy on short term disaster response teams with Mission to the World. Participants will be trained on how to rapidly respond on a small, self sustaining mobile unit that is able to set up and live in camps of displaced people groups. Topics of the training include everything from landmine awareness to tropical medicine - to managing conflict on short term teams and developing a theology of pain and suffering.

Hayne, with The SoulCare Project, will be co-hosting and helping facilitate a retreat for business leaders from all over the country gathered at the breathtaking Chik-Fil-A owned and operated Winshape Retreat. The spiritual directors for the retreat will be Steve Macchia and Rick Anderson with Leadership Transformations Inc.

Hayne and his wife Ruth Ann will be engaging high school students in a conversation about (1) how to safely navigate the issues that are often connected to deep hurts, (2) helping facilitate some helpful conversations aimed at healing for students, (3) providing a unique perspective into the emotional, spiritual and social needs of human beings, and (4) engaging the students’ attention around the role of the Gospel in those hurts and needs.

In preparation for a new ministry launch, Hayne will be joining his wife Ruth Ann, the founding local Director of YoungLives in Chattanooga, for a week providing childcare for teen moms from all over the country who re coming to exprience one week of Young Life summer camp.
Marriage Conference

Greg and April will be leading this day conference for couples. Greg was at Dallas Bay previously for the Fireproof Study in 2008 and will be following up on some of the same marraige concepts, such as: learning how to be a healing influence on your spouse in the places they have been hurt in the past and 3 crucial marriage necessities - intentionality, ownership and TEAM! April will lead a breakout session for women on anxiety and Greg will lead a breakout session for the men dealing with healthy sexuality.
Marriage Conference
San Jose, COSTA RICA
May 26th-28th
Greg and April will be leading this cross cultural marriage conference at the invitation of some local missionaries, and in partnership with Mission to the World. Because of a recent legal ban on divorce that was lifted in Costa Rica, the divorce rate in the first 4 years of marriage can be up to 75% - even among Christians. Several area churches on the Pacific coast of the country will be gathering for this event.

The Longboard Redemption - Las Olas Reunion

Hayne is headed to Costa Rica for a week long surf trip to meet up with three longtime friends who co-founded a small group gathering in college together called "Las Olas" (short for Las Olas de Cristo). One night each week in college, liken to Dead Poets, they would laugh their way from campus to the St. Augustine Fort for a couple hours of honest open sharing about real life issues. All surfers, on full moon nights, the gathering would convene down on St. Augustine Beach for a surf session under the bright moon light. Authentic, deep, genuine and honest brotherhood has been the ongoing consistent mark of these friendships culminating in an amazing reuinion in one of the most amazing surf spots on the planet. April we be presenting moms of any age on Anxiety at the monthly REAL Moms gathering, put on by Calvary Chapel. In this fun interactive time, she will be looking at biological, spiritual and emotional angles of this problem that so many people feel the weight of. On top of that, April will be sharing some exciting new research found in a recent book, Why Zebras Don't Have Ulcers.
Retreat of Hiddeness - The SoulCare Project

Hayne, with The SoulCare Project, will be co-hosting and co-facilitating a "Retreat of Hiddeness" for ministry leaders from all over the country who are needing to pull away from the rigors of frontline ministry and become unavailable for a few days. The heart of this retreat is to help leaders rest in the presence of God. The spiritual director for the retreat is Fil Anderson, founder and president of Journey Resources.
