Elbow Tree was first established in 2006 on the Southside of Chattanooga, TN at the foot of Lookout Mountain by some dear friends and colleagues, Greg and April Seymour.
In 2017, I planted my own counseling practice right here in St. Augustine, Florida. In 2021, I planted a second Florida office in Jacksonville Beach where I grew up.
While the Florida and Tennessee practices share a name, some familiar branding, a similar ethos and language, they are two very distinct counseling practices, each independently owned and operated.
There is often local folklore around elbow trees. Sometimes, they point towards water or some other significant landmark. On the back of Lookout Mountain, TN there is an elbow tree at a particular trail junction directing hikers and campers towards an important water source.
