Elbow Tree was first established in 2006 on the Southside of Chattanooga, TN at the foot of Lookout Mountain by some dear friends and colleagues, Greg and April Seymour. I came on board with Elbow Tree in Chattanooga during my last year of graduate school while receiving my masters degree in Marriage and Family Therapy.
In 2017, I moved to Florida where I planted my own local counseling practice right here in St. Augustine, Florida. While the Florida and Tennessee practices share a name, some familiar branding, a similar ethos and language, they operate as two very distinct counseling practices, each independently owned and operated.
In 2021, I opened a second office location in Jacksonville Beach where I grew up. We've since added two more locations in Mandarin and Silver Leaf on the brand new campus of Trinity Parish North.
Why is the practice named Elbow Tree?
There is often local folklore around elbow trees. Sometimes, they point towards water or some other significant landmark. On the back of Lookout Mountain, TN there is an elbow tree at a particular trail junction directing hikers and campers towards an important water source. The message of this tree is simply, “Turn Here.” This is also the idea behind Elbow Tree Christian Counseling. Stop by and let us help you get oriented in your particular situation.
Look around the site and get acquainted with our counseling practice. Feel free to call if you would like to set up an appointment or learn more about us.
