Read on below and you can find all sorts of helpful information about how to get started with me. I've included a sampling of some of the common situations I work with, but it is not exhaustive. If you are experiencing something different than what you see there, get in touch. It's likely that I can help you too.
GETTING STARTED WITH ME:
Scheduling
I do all my own scheduling and currently have a variety of times available on Mondays and Wednesdays. The quickest and easiest way to get an appointment with me is to email me at [email protected] or you may call or text me at 904-679-6630.
Payment
The standard fee for all clients for a 50-minute session is $150. I accept cash, personal checks, and credit cards. All card charges will include a 3.5% processing fee. It is the policy of Elbow Tree that the session fee is to be paid prior to the end of the session. Additional fees are charged for sex addiction clients to complete assessments to facilitate your treatment. Typically, this will include a Sexual Dependency Inventory (SDI) developed by the International Institute for Trauma and Addiction Professionals (IITAP). The fee for this is $350 which includes the administration of the assessment and a follow-up individual session going over the results.
Discounted Fees
Pre-paying for 8-10 sessions knocks 20% off of the hourly fee. 8 bundled sessions is $960 and 10 bundled sessions is $1200.
Insurance
I do not take any form of insurance other than the use of an HSA Card, but would be glad to make a helpful referral to another clinician locally who might be in a position to accommodate that for you. I am able to provide you with a receipt for you to submit or some amount of reimbursement from your health care provider.
Forms
All intake forms must be completed online prior to your first appointment with me by completing online intake forms and bringing them with you or you may complete those in the office.

When you arrive to the office in Saint Augustine, park anywhere and feel free to come on into the waiting area and find a cozy place to relax until our session begins. I will be out at the top of the hour to greet you, so don't worry if it's close the time we are supposed to meet and you have not seen me yet. I may be wrapping up a session just ahead of you. Also, feel free to use the restroom in the office prior to our session.
Cancellations
Please give me 24-hours notice if you need to cancel our appointment. Last minute cancellations and no-shows will be charged the full session fee unless it is a medical emergency.

WELCOME!
You may be feeling that your life is in crisis because of relationship, marital, or career distress and been impacted by past trauma and attachment wounds. To cope, you may use a variety of unhealthy behaviors including substance and sex addiction creating emotional distress, shame, and relational distress. As part of this, you may feel stigmatized and isolated from your family and faith communities. I provide counseling services to support individuals from a variety of faith backgrounds who are facing a crisis due to their addictive behavior. I use evidence based trauma informed and attachment practices to support individuals in understanding the underlying issues leading to their addiction and supporting them to live a life congruent with their values. I support the addict to address any shame and support them in creating greater distress tolerance, relationship building skills, and a lifestyle of recovery. In addition, I can provide couples counseling to help rebuild intimacy in your relationship.
A Little About Me
I worked in a corporate setting in a variety of roles for 37 years. In 2008, I became a lay counselor at my church and found a calling to support individuals and couples who were coping with some form of crisis in their lives. I have been working professionally as a counselor since 2018. I am a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist (CSAT) and a Master Certified Addiction Professional (FL). I am married and we enjoy travel, the outdoors, and visiting our family. We recently moved to the Saint Augustine area to be closer to family.
