Group DetailsLed by a certified, licensed therapist, In the Wildflowers, supports women who have suffered the trauma of childhood emotional, physical, spiritual or sexual abuse.
This program was produced by Restoring the Heart Ministries, Inc., which exists to share the truth and healing power of Jesus to those who are broken by various traumas. This small group counseling experience offers hope to those who have experienced childhood trauma/abuse through the video storytelling of survivor & therapist Julie Woodley and the personal journeys of five other women. In a safe environment, with caring guidance, one can open up and let healing in. Complemented by videoed observations and commentary by pastors, priests, psychologists and the small group members, this journey connects one to community and touches the heart of many types of wounds in profound and gentle ways. The program begins with listening to the stories. It travels through the expression of deep emotions and the releasing of anger and shame. The journey continues in the work of understanding the messages of self-identity written in the past. As participants rewrite their stories the next chapters work in tune with the emerging story of liberty that God authors for each of His children. There is time for the deeper journey into Mother, Father and partner wounds. The path leads on to the acceptance of responsibility to grab hold of one’s healing with wise decision-making. Based on developing beliefs, the discovery of feminine strength, and the freedom to grow in God’s love, the path through the Wildflowers brings community and encouragement along the way. When do we meet? The new Wildflowers group will begin and continue for 10 weeks on Fridays from 6:30-9:00pm. It is important to commit to attending each of the 10 sessions. Where do we meet? Elbow Tree Christian Counseling 38 South Dixie Highway, Saint Augustine, Florida 32084. How much does it cost? The workbook cost is $18 and each session is $30 ala carte. To receive one session free of charge the series can be paid in full at $270 to begin. How many spots are available? There are 6 seats available and this group will function as a closed group during the 10 week cycle. A weekly commitment is expected until your goals for involvement in the group have been met. So, if 6 people sign up, then 6 people will form the group for that 10 week cycle. In the new cycle, participants may continue to participate in the group for another 10 week cycle. Why Group Therapy? |
Group therapy is a powerful tool for growth and change. In process groups, 10+ individuals meet face to face to share their struggles and concerns with the facilitation of 1-2 trained group therapists. The power of process groups lies in the unique opportunity to receive multiple perspectives, support, encouragement and feedback from other individuals in a safe and confidential environment. These interpersonal interactions can provide group members an opportunity to deepen their level of self-awareness and to learn how they relate to others.
